Throughout the season Junior golfers are provided with a core golf education program along with opportunities to play both casual and competitive golf. The program caters to all ages and skill levels to ensure that everyone from a novice to scratch golfer becomes a better golfer.
2011 Team Challenge top teams
Each Saturday all junior members are invited for some golf education where the learning goes beyond just the golf swing, but includes golf rules and etiquette. The one hour lesson which focuses on a different area each week is followed by the players organized into playing groups with challenges on different holes around the course (with prizes from our junior program sponsors).
At the end of the year the juniors are invited to play as a team in this four-some scramble where the low score takes home the trophy! The prizes and food are enjoyed by all.
Carleton Golf and Yacht Club competes annually in the Ottawa Valley Junior Intersectional Championship, this program offers our juniors the chance to play competitive golf against other clubs in the region.
Parent & Junior Scramble
The juniors have the opportunity to invite a parent or guest to play with them in this team event. This event is particularly fun as the juniors get to show off their skills on the course to their partner.
Each year the different skill levels of Juniors compete for the club championships. This two round event has trophies for the winners and prizes for the on hole challenges.
For players that want to get even more golf, Carleton offers a golf camp week where those attending are provided with daily golf lessons and playing time along with many other fun activities. This is a great way to hone your game or to just have fun with your friends at the course.
There is always more...
Juniors are also invited to join in on many of the other events that go on throughout the year.
